Hospitals absorb underpayment because contesting it takes clinical and legal capability at once, and few hospitals hold both to spare. We started Healthcare Recovery Group to close that gap for international patient claims, with a documented methodology and a fee that is only paid from what we recover.

Dr Hassan Rehmani is a Consultant Physician in Acute Medicine with nearly two decades in medicine, most of it in NHS acute hospitals, and holds executive accountability for the medical workforce of a major acute trust. His career has centred on one discipline: reading the clinical record, testing it against the standard that applied, and writing opinions that survive scrutiny. Healthcare Recovery Group applies that discipline to international patient claims. Every claim the firm takes on is reviewed against the same documented, auditable methodology, so the position put to an insurer is evidenced, referenced to the record, and written to be examined.

Why the firm exists

The capability to contest an underpaid claim existed. It had never been put in one place.

Clinicians could always say what care was justified. Solicitors could always carry a claim. What hospitals lacked was a single firm that did both for international patient billing, at no cost unless it recovered something. That is the whole idea, and the methodology page shows how it is done.
